| Also, did you know that platinum is a catalyst for alcohol (ethanol,
| methanol).

Apparently, this explains why platinum blondes can't hold their liquor.

Seriously though, the new Dodge Magazine has an article on platinum plugs
and coil on plug ignitions like the 4.7L. It says they use LOWER voltage
because of the high conductivity of Platinum. The lower voltage allows
100,000 tune-ups.

Looks like a bummer for the 4.7 crowd as we don't have a way yet to crank
up the firestarter. Also looks like we should stick with platinum, which
I've never been a fan of.

One more comment, beware of some of the platinum plugs, especially the
newest bells and whistles models. You'll notice they have far fewer part
numbers and the ones they have will cross reference to standard plugs of
several heat ranges. You might get lucky and you might get screwed.
Unless you really know the brand plug you're dealing with or have
experimented you usually end up with too hot a plug when you get something
like the new Bosch +4's. They err on the hot side as too cold a plug leads
to fouling and these plugs are designed for extended service intervals.
