So here's the kicker on the whole pinging problem. If it's designed to "run"
on 87, and performs poorer with higher grade...explain the pinging problem
then. I think some marketing bozo at DC didn't follow the engineering
departments recommendations.

My truck had been running on 92/93 octane fuel since Day-1. (Yup...got it with
30 miles on the speedo) and drove it right down to Chevron and filled it up
with Super. Never ran anything less since then and no problems. (Maybe that's
why I didn't realize the pinging problem right off the bat.)
