well this morning i started installing my jba headers from austin. the head
bolts were no problem at all. then i try the y-pipe bolts and they are very
much rusted. i tried the first and broke the metal guard on the top that is
supposed to hold the whole bolt assembly from moving. so that one just
spins now. they all look real bad. i would just cut them out except there
isn't much room there to cut the bolts. so i was thinking... maybe i'll
just cut the y-pipe at the bottom and yank the whole thing out and get a new
y-pipe installed. now how big should i go?? the truck is a 94 V6, 2wd,
auto w/88000 miles. and i have a 10" K&N open element, msd 6a ignition w/
blaster coil and rapid fire plugs. free flowing cat, flowmaster 40 series,
and then the jba headers will be on. i am planning some intakes mods soon,
so i want fairly free flowing y-pipe. what is the max size i should go
with?? or does anybody have any better ideas on how to get the y-pipe bolts
out?? thanks for any help..
mike k
