column shift indicator not lining up

I don't know about your truck, but mine has a little cable that goes from
the dash to the column and is attatched to the part of the column that moves
with the shifter. I think you could shorten or lengthen that to adjust the
indicator. Don't hold me to this. My truck is an '88.
