If you spin one tire and the other side goes along with it (LSD), it is
not an axle, that might be your pinion gear.
If it was an axle, there would be some movement of the
driveshaft from the side that didn't snap.
If it was your spider gears then the driveshaft and each axle
would "freewheel" on their own.
I hope for your sake it's the cheapest one!
If it is your spider gears, you could get a spool.....(evil grin)
Good luck

<< Well, you knew it would happen, Something was gonna break when launching
at
3500 rpms with Hoosier, and pulling 1.88 60' times today!! Baawaaa haa ha!!
On my 6th run of the day, pulled it up to the lights, rev'd it to 3200
rpms,
dumped the clutch, WHAAAAAAAAAAAM!!!! I didn't move an inch!!
Instantaneous breakage, at first I'm thinking tranny, so I try another gear,
nothing, no gears work. Now I'm thinking rear end, yep, I broke a 9 1/4 rear
end, OR did I???? My gut feel is I snapped an axle ??? Any clues guys????

I jacked the rear up, and put it in gear, rotated both rear wheels by hand,
and absolutely no driveshaft movement, so I know its either , Spider gears,
ring/pinion, or an axle. If its an axle, shouldn't I be able to pull it out,
Wheel and all, does anything else hold it in other than the C-clip????
It broke so fast, and no forward movement at all, makes me think axle???
Oh, well, the quest for 13's is put off until next year. Today I ran,
14.32,
 14.42, 14.40, 14.31, and 14.37. I did run my fastest 1/8 mile ever 9.02 ,
VMP is not a very fast track, I'm usually a tenth slower, or more.
Off to the dealer tomorrow, I'll see what they have to say on Monday.

Oh yea, Scott Miller, I know ;) YOU TOLD ME SO !!! hee heee!
