I agree with Will. You have to keep on top of it. If you let it get dirty
and don't clean it, the heat from the engine will just cook that crap in
there. Then it becomes a real chore to clean. I don't do it every other
wash but I do make sure I get to it once a month to keep that showroom look
in it. Takes me about an hour to wipe it all down. The custom valve covers
take the longest. I have to get in there with cleaner and brush and wipe
the little bits of oil and dust that have collected out.

A lot of time spent with paper towels and Q-tips, seriously.I generally
spend 2-3 hours cleaning my engine compartment every other time I wash it.It
takes a lot of time, but if you never let it get that dirty, it's not that
bad.The first time you do it, it will seem like you will never get it all
clean,but you can.I use water or quik detailer to clean with and haven't had
a problem with anything.HTH,
