That's correct, a special order truck like that would not come off the
assembly line. The cost to do something like that would be
horrendous, and not worth it to DC or the person buying the truck. If
you saw how the line worked you would understand why it's not
economically possible. A person on the R/T list who works on the line
tried to get some special little things done, but to no avail. All he
could do was walk along and watch it being assembled to ensure
everything was done just right. The six speed could have been done by
a dealer, or a third-party shop, but it did not leave the Warren plant
like that.
