That's because the Gen III's use another processor called the Computer
Anti-Lock Brake System (CABS). This system counts the tire revolutions to
determine how fast you're going. The number of revolutions per mile is
known by the CABS. That's why when you change tire and/or wheel sizes you
have to have your CABS re-flashed. As the CABS counts it passes the speed
up the PCM which then signals the speedometer and odometer. Unfortunately,
the CABS has a table of set tire sizes that it can use. Those are the
various tires that are installed on Daks from the factory. If you go beyond
those sizes the CABS can only be re-flashed to the closest one.
