Yes, the tip does make a difference. The bigger the tip size the more
mellow the actual tone. Then, there's those "Monza" (Super Restrictor)
Tips. (Yech!)

sounds similar to my 94 V6. i also have a flowmaster. what series do you
have?? also what what kind of exhaust tip?? i think the tip makes a big
difference also. i have the 2 chamber flowmaster exiting out the back into
a hella big 4"x18" angle cut tip. it's a bit wide, but oh well.... i like
the sound... and your's is pretty good too...
