RT ride height and Lowering stuff

ok, dumb question time. I have read on here before that the RT was lowered
2" in the back via a flip of the axle. Is the front any lower than a
regular dak? besides from maybe the weight of the engine and tire height? I
was thinking about lowering my truck, but the roads here in the swamp we
call New Orleans are really $hitty. Thinking about just putting a set of 2"
shackles on the back. That should level it out real nice, since my assend
sits WAY high in the air ( No spare or bumper, plastic factory roll pan). I
assume that with the 255/55/17 RS-A's my front end would be about the same
height as a RT?

Adding fender flares in a few weeks, that should help out on the looks,
maybe give an illusion or lower?

If I do decide on shackles or hangers or whatever, who is the best to get
them from? Anyone in the NOLA area know of a good place to do the work
(still kinda new here). I would go to BR or Hammond.. not affraid to drive
a little =]

TIA
