Jayson,
   Up here in the "Sub-Antarctic" state of NY, the rationale I always used
when faced with you problem, was to put the newer treads on the rear. I
realize that you front end might be a little loose with the baldies, but if
you can't get traction from the rear, you don't have to worry about the
front end. You won't be moving anyways! LOL! FWIW, ya might wanna throw some
extra weight in the bed, over the axle, to help with the traction.
