Are you sure you got the right belt? The part number for the belt with A/C
is 975K7. If ya don't then it's 884K7. I am thinking of bypassing my A/C
when i run at the track. Someone told me that the 884k7 doesn't work if your
bypassing the A/C. I work at Auto Zone. Just wondering. It is usually best
to change everything since you're working on it. the original hose clamps
suck. hope ya had fun. :-)

I went out today and bought some parts, all from Autozone, so I can have
some 'bonding time' with my truck on this nice 3 day weekend. Here is the
rundown on the parts, part numbers, and prices:
-Kelly-Springfield Serpentine Belt; PN#884K7; $22.99
-Upper Radiator Hose; PN#974; $6.99
-Lower Radiator Hose; PN#919; $7.99
-Water Bypass Hose; PN#4374; $2.99
-Robert Shaw Generation II Thermostat; PN#GT755-195; $8.99
-Felpro Water Outlet Gasket; PN#35064; $.89

I wasnt originally intending on buying or replacing the serpentine belt, but
for $23 I figure it is one last thing to worry about. Plus, the current belt
has 65,000 miles on it and has alot of cracks. Rather be safe than sorry.
Plus it is extremely easy to replace this belt. I also bought 6 hose clamps;
two for each hose. I have 4 extras at the house, which I am going to use to
double clamp the upper and lower radiator hose. I am running out to WalMart
right now to get some Prestone Antifreeze, probably will pick up 2 gallons.
I have the DEI Radiator Relief on order from Summit, so when it comes in I
will just drain a quart out of the radiator to make room for the 'additive'.
I think after all this is put on I am finally going to search around for
pricing and buy the 120amp alternator my truck needs. The 75amper unit has
been hurting lately. Happy New Year to all!
