Considering the MPG on a Dak, that's not a bad place to be when you hit "E".
On a 24-gal tank, that gives you 5 gal or about 50-75 miles left.

in my '00 I get 19 gallons burned when the needle hits the "E". There was a
thread about this a month or two ago. You may want to check it out, but
this is consistant behavior for most, if not all Daks.
