After the install of the Vortech, I did THE bid NO NO. I set the timimg
retard down to zero degrees (albeit accidently). This caused a head gasket
to go, which lead to overheating, etc, etc. Then the mechanic I gave the
job to didn't go though the motor as well as he should have, and I've been
fighting gremlins. The truck overheated again a week ago monday, I checked
the oil and found water again. NOT a good thing. So the motor is coming
out, and with all of the problems, is NOT going back in (especially since I
just got a 2000 R/T). The 98 is paid for, and was being turned into more
and more of a strip toy. It now knows and fully wants to live up to its new
intended purpose ( picture Dr Frankenstein belly laughing here, rubbing his
hands together). The big question is on of the 440s I have, or build a
360/408. I thinks its much easier to build BIG power with excess cubic
inches. BUT a stout naturally aspirated 408 making a conservative 425, then
throw on the Vortech also sounds KEWL.
Thoughts anybody??
