RE: 3.0 V6 vs 3.9V6

Ron,I have heard that the Caravan trannies have a
retainer that breaks loose and causes
problems.Supposedly,Intrepids do not have this problem
because this retainer is heavier-duty.This was told to
me by a trans. mechanic.He said that he always uses
the Intrepid-style part(s) when he does one of those
trannys.And he said that Dodge dealers DO NOT use the
stronger part(s) when they rebuild them.I wish I could
remember exactly what he said fails in those things.
Dang it! Actually,it may have been part of the casting
that breaks,and causes an assembly to shift inside and
get chewed up. Steve P.
