Fram suregrip, No!!!!!

I use a 16" or so pair of slipjoint pliers on my oil filters. They work
wonders. I grab the body of the filter squueze and turn, no problems
ever. Well a few choice words ont eh factory filter but that is all. hope
this helps. Oh we have also used a chain whip sucessfully in the past.
