For the Daks that come with the Tire and Handling package, isn't the rear
sway bar mounted to the rear axle with tabs that are welded to the axle? To
put one on to a Dak without the Handling package you will then need to buy
the U bolts and bushings elsewhere. On my 98 I installed the rear sway bar
kit that is sold by JC Whitney. I can't recall the manufacturer of it right
now but if you take advantage of JC Whitney's periodic promotional discount
and free shipping offers, you can get the complete set for under $150. The
addition of the rear bar has definitely eliminated most of the rear body
sway on my 98 CC 4x2. For the front I would look into just replacing the
bushings and end links. The front bushing are available through
www.energysuspension.com. I have not seen anything on the end links.

If you can't afford Hotchkis, then see if you can find some off of a Gen 3
Dak with tire and handling pkg. That's not Hotchkis but it's the closest
I've seen and a heck of a lot cheaper.

I have the opportunity to by a used stock rear sway bar from a 97. First
off will it fit my 1999. Also, what my goal is to keep the rear end from
moving side to side so much. I have stock suspension all around. Do you
think it would be worth the money. What is the max I should pay for it. I
do not want to lower my truck at all. Just want to stiffen it up. Would an
aftermarket rear sway bar be better? One last question is do you think I
should change my front to an aftermarket bar. I fell I have to much sway.
I would like to keep this a cheap as possible...I can't afford hotchkis kit
so that is out of the question.
