Ok, I've been doing some serious online shopping as well as checking out
many stores around town. Looked at Stereo King in Gresham, Car Toys in
Gateway and Best Buy and The Good Guys just off of Airport way. To purchase
what I want from one of these stores and have them install it is $900+. But
the best value I have found is, of course, to do it myself. And the best
prices anywhere come from www.Autotoys.com, they are a verisign secure site
and registered with Bizrate.com. Just to give you a quick run down on
prices from some online sites, for the complete system:
Crutchfield $813.75
Audio Warehouse $662
Carmedia1 $606
Autotoys $577.43

So now for some more questions. I need to get an Amp wiring kit, and there
are many to be found. Autotoys has a kit from Stinger. An 8 guage deluxe kit
for $33.50 and a Venom Cable upgrade for an additional $9.95, whatever that
is. Perhaps you could take a look at there site (www.autotoys.com) and see
if this is a good choice for a Pioneer 50wX4 amp? Can I directly replace the
factory speakers and amp with new components and re use the factory wiring?
And last, if you could or have built your own system what products would you
choose and what would you stay away from(personal experiances, word of
mouth, technical specs)? Need to replace the head unit with a Din and half
one. Going to replace the component speakers in the front doors and the 2
rear 6 1/2" and throw an amp into the mix. No sub boxes.
