$100 for what? I think it's only like $160 to replace the tensioner which
is what should have been done to begin with. The other thing, if you're the
one replacing the tensioner, do NOT overtighten the belt. That's what
causes tensioner failures, not to mention bearing failures in water pumps,
alternators, AC compressors, etc.

Subject: DML: GET THIS.. PLease HElp!
Hi, I have a 1994 Dak sport, and it has recently been making a claknking
noise on the belt tensioner, so i took it too the shop, and they said that
it just needed to be lubricated. Well, $100.00 later I picked up my truck
and it was fixed! NOT!!!! The very next day the clanking was just as bad or
worse! What can I do? Does it need to be tightened, or what? The sound is
embarassing. What should I do? Its the belt tensioner.
thanks, Matt BADAZZDAK
