Re: I think I'm making myself misunderstood here......

I've been following this thread as well as the other thread related to the
other Will on the list. I have been letting everyone else make comments for
the most part have agreed with everything that has been said that follows
the theme of Ronald Wong. Now I've decided to open my big fat mouth and add
my $.05 ($.02 after inflation) to the discussion.

Before I go into my rambling diatribe I would like to make one observation.
On the list we have two Will's. One who drives his truck as if there was an
egg under accelerator pedal, the other who drives with his foot rammed as
far down the TB as possible. Which driving method is right..... They both
are because it is their own personal choice. No one condemns ABeerCan Will
for turning his truck into one of the fastest trucks out there (damn nice
job by the way), we shouldn't condemn Will Coughlin for treating and
driving his truck the way he wants to.

Having said that Will, continue to drive your truck the way you want.
However, try not to stress over it if you get the rpm over 2K or if the
temperature rises above 210. You'll get an ulcer (if you continue in this
vain when and if you have kids, you'll go crazy). Momentary trips above
these ranges should not hurt your truck, if they do then Dodge has duped
all of us.

Regarding some of your problems:
1) I don't think going above 210 degrees is anything to worry about.
Getting close to that "H" on your gauge (above the second line)... Time to
worry.
2) Get the dealer to fix the transmission. Don't let up until they do.
3) Have you tried resetting the computer to resolve your idle/stalling
problem. I don't know if it would help but in keeping with Ron's theory on
how the computer adjust to your driving habits. If you reset the computer
and drive slightly more aggressively (i.e. let her get to 3000 rpm or
above) for awhile, maybe the thing will fix itself.
4) I don't have a clue as to the valve cover problem (don't have a clue to
much else either).

Will, you seem like a nice young man. The media is so full of news of young
people getting into trouble that we tend to forget there are young people
out there who have good values and respect for others and are trying to
contribute to society. It is always good to see someone who takes pride and
is thankful for what he has.

Sorry to hear about your uncle. He sounds like he has been an mentor and a
very important part of your life. Speaking for the list (taking a little
liberty), our prayers are with him as well as you.
