Transgo shift kit instal, now problems

I installed my shift kit yesterday, and now I can't the valve body to go into
reverse and park when installed in the vehicle. I know the parking rod is
installed correctly and I can't figure out why is does it. The pan has yet to
be filled with fluid and the engine started. I NEED this truck to get around,
give me the best help you can!!
