Hey, mm.
My local body shop tells me the best way to touch up paint chips & small scrathches is to use the the end of a bookmatch as the paint applicator. This would be the end without the ignitable head, where it gets kinda shredded when it separates from the rest of the book. I've used this method & for the most part, it works quite well. Don't try to blob the paint on, but apply it gradually to build up the layers, waiting for the first one to dry before applying the next. The only
other cautions I was given, were to make sure the paint was well mixed & that the ambient temperature was in the mid to high 60s for the paint to adhere & dry correctly. I'd suggest you try this method in a rather unobtrusive location like under the bumper or the bottom of a rocker/quarter panel first, until you get a feel for the procedure. HTH.
