Home Despot actually isn't a great place for fasteners or other specialty
items, they only carry high volume stuff. Here in St. Louis I have a much
better time finding fasteners at a few local places; two hometown hardware
stores and a large commercial business that specializes in fasteners,
Inventory Sales Company. Sometimes when I go in there just needing a few
bolts or pins or something they just give them to me free because it's such
a piddly amount to them it's not worth it to them to fill out a sales
ticket! :-) They also let me wander around the warehouse exploring, which I
love.
Check out your local businesses, they often have things the big stores
don't, and a lot of times they're not even any more expensive! And they are
way cooler.
