I've never driven anything with a centrifugal blower on it and in by no means
putting them down, but on my new 4.7 Kenne Bell Supercharger the boost
definitely doesn't die out on the top end. I get a 7-8 lbs. boost from 2,000
up to red line. Though I don't recommend going this fast, I have had the Dak
up to 115mph. I was in 4th gear @ about 5,000 rpm's when I hit 115 and it was
still pulling hard when I shifted into 5th and let off. Got scared at that
point. From what I understand that's about where the speed limiter would kick
in, although it didn't on that run. Maybe if I had tried to continue to push
it in 5th it would have. This thing pulls hard from the time I floor it until
the the time I let off. Boost gauge stays bouncing between 7-8 the whole way.
In the Kenne Bell literature they address the statement that their SC's boost
drops off at higher RPM's as just another "fairy tale from the centrifugal
manufacturers." They state: "they develop at least the advertised boost from
2,000-5,000 RPM. They guarantee it." They say "they have the data, the dyno,
the vehicles and the recording equipment to prove it." I am not trying to
discredit what your saying because you apparently have more experience than I
with the two differ types. I'm just stating my experiences and what Kenne
Bell has to say about what you were saying. Maybe some of KB's older unit's
had that problem, I don't know, but certainly not the 4.7 unit. This thing
rocks!
