Michigan, and Ohio) I would recommend storing the truck in the garage as
opposed to undercoating it. If you ever need to do any work on the frame or
other underbelly items the coating can be rather nasty (if still
fresh/sticky) or a royal pain to scrape off to get work done.
Also make sure the antifreeze level in the engine is good. Even in the
garage it will get cold enough to freeze the coolant (if not properly
mixed -- 50/50 works just fine) which will crack the block.
Be happy you aren't going to Minot. Engine block heaters are a real pain
(especially when you forget to plug them in overnight -- based on Minnesota
experiences).
