Hey Wes (and all),
Sorry about your accident, happy you're ok. I just bought a 98 5.2L 4x4
Club with 40K and all the options on it for $16K, it was from a dealer so I
dropped the cash on an extended drive-train warranty and then ended up
having to pay tax, tag, title and all that crap. Suffice to say I ended up
paying considerably more than 16K for this bad boy, sigh. BUT, it's EXACTLY
what I wanted and appears to be in mint condition. I had a Ford Expedition
on a lease and vowed never to do a lease (or Ford) again. I grew up driving
K5 Chevy Blazers (vowed those off too, but they were FUN). IMHO, go with
another doge, the Chevy's at this price point SUCK. I can say that cause
I've owned around 6 of them. I like the NEW Ford interior (no Flames, I'm a
Dodge convert!!!), but like I said, I ditched a 98 5.7L Eddie Bower
Expedition to get a 98 4x4 Club DAK. Dodge used to have a crappy interior,
now they have fixed all that, they make a great truck. Basically what I'm
saying is, I just went through looking at ALL brands of truck from 1993 to
2000 for under $16,000 and the DAK is hands down the winner.
Check out www.traderonline.com and look at AUTO's (not Trucks those are big
rigs), then choose DODGE, then DAKOTA. I settled on this one because it was
just a little bit more than I wanted to spend, and I'm glad I bought the
tranny warranty. It cost $1,300, but I KNOW I will blow the transfer case,
u-joints, maybe the transmission before it's over with.
Then I found this list! Man, that's all my wallet (and wife) needed:) I've
already got a list of sh*t to do after I'm done with the stereo I'm putting
in now.
Nice meeting you guys,

Subject: DML: lookin for a new truck
OK fellow shivvy racists j/k.
I have found 3 dakota's.
1st truck: 1996 4x4 CC v6 with 180,000 miles (poop) and no power windows
(poop again) Only $3,000 and new tranny put in 20,000 miles ago. If I buy I
will have to switch my motor and tranny in and put power windows in. too
much work for me but I'm open to suggestions and no I will not keep a v6 if
that was your suggestion.
2nd truck: 1995 4x4 CC V8 loaded (plus) no mileage listing and wants $8500
sounds good if it is in good shape and has around 50,000 on it.(most
promising)
3rd truck: 1997 4x4 CC v8 SLT (plus) 92,000 miles (poop) wants $12,000.
I know the trannys arent great in these if the fluid hasnt been changed
regularly so if I get this truck (highly unlikely) and the tranny poops on
me, will the tranny out of my 92 4x4 CC v8 fit?
And Mr. Hemipower I was not screwing around in my truck I was driving home
to go to bed but I fell asleep before I got there. If I had a faster truck I
would have gotten home quicker. J/K Dont give me anymore crap I'm only a
kid with liability insurance and a empty driveway (cry)
