Oh god. Is there no sanity on this list? To quote a friend of mine, "dude
this movie sucks!" I'll admit I just don't get the appeal of drag racing
but I do try to understand it. Stallone and company didn't make any effort
at all to understand road racing. Driven makes Days of Thunder look like
an oscar winner. Damn, talk about no basis in reality. I guess because
it's "my sport" I'm a little opinionated, but it just wasn't even close to
realistic and the effects are terrible. The street scene is
ridiculous...any idea how difficult it is to *start* one of those cars? It
takes a team and quite a bit of time to get the thing ready to run.

Plot, what plot? You want to see a great movie about racing? Go rent Le
Mans (Steve McQueen) or Grand Prix (James Garner). The opening 20 minutes
of Grand Prix are some of the most incredible racing scenes ever filmed,
and Le Mans is simply the best.
