You get 4 types of pleas:

1) Traffic school (if applicable)
2) Not Guilt-- which will then set a court date for.
3) Guilty - cut an dry there
4) Guilty with an explanation- which is basically worthless, and works
out to be just like #3.

Take traffic school on #1... if you do on #2, once #1 rolls around, they'll
see you have taken traffic school on #2, then you are screwed.

On #2, get the facts together... and find out what days the officer is
working
if you can... schedule the court date when he is working. He won't show,
and
out the ticket goes. You can try to fight it be making references to
the things you mentioned, but DO NOT plea GUILTY as then the show is over.

What part of the country are you located??? There's a guy here in San Diego
that's called Mr. Ticket and he will handle your case for $99.00 Most time
getting you off with either a warning, or a 'special' traffic school even
if you've been within 18 months.
