I have the tube replacement type and I agree it might be possible to get the
pipe with the corresponding key on it but it's not going to be that common.
As for cutting the cable I don't see how they could do this without either
chopping up the spare which would completely defeat the purpose or cutting a
hole in the floor of the bed which like the spare would be way too time
consuming. I look at locks and alarms as one thing only...a deterrent. If a
thief wants your stuff bad enough and is equipped well enough then he is
going to get them. The idea is to make it more difficult and/or attention
getting for him to do what he wants.
