I'm originally from up there but down here in SoCal now. It's unlikely the
water will be warm enough up there to be hopping in. They're still wearing
wet suits down here. But it sounds like you're heading to some neat places.
The redwoods are beautiful this time of year. Go down to the beach and head
up Hwy 1 to the redwoods. If you have time you should go all the way to
Mendocino. That's way north and gets cold but the scenery's unbeatable.

They are always full - I have an extra unused days pass sitting here because
I
couldn't get on. Walking 15-20 blocks in downtown SF isn't easy. There is
a
fringe benefit that I didn't even think about - the combination of the
ladies
spring/summer outfits combined w/the constant cool breeze is a sight to
behold
for sure. Haven't seen too many Dak's downtown - lots of full-sized
pickups.
Some around the berkeley area yesterday afternoon tho. Any locals on the
list?
We plan to do the science musuem/exploritorium and maybe the redwood forests
trips today. Still haven't got on a surfboard yet. w/my feet/legs still
hurting and the supposedly frigid water - it keeps getting pushed off 8).
