"...I also noticed
Powerslot has a set of front pads for $27. Seems
awfully cheap compared to the Raybestos set for $109.
Are the Powerslot pads really junky? Has anyone used
these?"
I believe they are the wrong pads. I bought Powerslot
rotors and pads from truckperformance.com. I found out
the hard way -- after I had the brakes off -- that the
pads were completely wrong. No way they would fit. I
rushed around until I finally found the right pads at
the dealer -- for something like $100.
Truckperformance has been a pain in the ass over their
mistake. When I called to get authorization to return
the pads they wanted me to pay the return shipping
costs. They blamed Powerslot for the mistake. They
made me call Powerslot directly to get them to agree
to cover the shipping costs. Then I had to call
truckperformance again. They finally agreed to
reimburse me for the shipping costs.
But they didn't act on their promise. When I got the
reimbursement on my credit card statement, it did not
include the money I was out for return shipping.
