I've had the Mopar locking gas cap since my truck was new and never had a
problem with it.

Subject: DML: Was Re: Stolen Spare Tire - Locking Gas Cap

I had been using the mopar locking gas cap for several months. One day my
"Check Engine Light" came on. I took it in for an oil change and mentioned
the warning light. The first thing the service manager asked me was if I
had a locking gas cap. I don't remember the explanation I was given, but
they reset the sensor and told me to put the original cap back on. A week
or so later I still had the locking cap on and the warning light came back
on. I swapped out the locking for the original cap and a few days later the
light went out on its own. Anyone else have problems like this with the
locking gas cap?

Also, a note on the spare tire locks. I also had the mopar replacement
tube. I had to have some work done on the truck and when I got it back I
noticed the tire was loose. So I tried to raise it up but it just wasn't
going anywhere. Got my father to give me a hand and I decided to take it
off because I didn't want to have to deal with being on the side of the road
somewhere and not get the tire down. Turns out the replacement tube was
bent slightly but just enough to cause my problems. I've since ordered the
spare tire lock that's been discussed in this thread.

Lastly, I've also got the Mopar/McGard tire locks and tailgate lock in
addition to the power tailgate lock I ordered from JC Whitney. I guess you
can just call me paranoid... Anyone know if they make tail light locks? :)
