If the SS is a 98+ model it would have the same LS1 as the Vette. the LS1
Camaros/Firebirds have been shown to make a bit more power at the rear
wheels then the C5 too, because of the tranny location on each car.

ON C5 Vette the RWHP should much higher than the SS, since the engine on the
SS is the older C4 version.

Ya the c5 did like 278hp stock, then with a magnaflow catback w/x pipe it
did
292. The SS we had did 310hp with slowsmaster (flowmaster) on it. We put the
magnaflow kit on it and it did 322hp today. The bad thing about the camaro
vs
the corvette, half the engine is under the wiper cowl, and its a really
tight
sqeeze. 2 cents
