The headlight/dash switch is not a sturdy unit. With the one in my 98 CC,
it will rotate CW past the point where the interior lights would come on.
Rotate the switch CCW and CW to verify that the dash lights aren't working
when the headlights are on. If the switch also controls the driving lights
I believe there was a TSB out to repair/replace it. Is he still under
warranty? Do the tailights still light up when the brake pedal is
depressed? Is it just the parking lights and night time lights that are
affected with the tail lights?

Subject: DML: Dash Lights Not Working
I am posting this for someone else who has a 98 Dakota and had the
headlight switch pull out on him a few times, when he put it back in
he was able to get the headlight working but the dash lights no longer
work.
He checked for the various fuses and couldn't find one that was for
the dash lights but the headlight fuse was OK.
He has since noticed that his taillights are not working but is not
sure if it happened at the same time.
Anyone have an idea where to start in the troubleshooting?
