Yeah, yeah, we can all think of situations where this would be
inconvenient, like loading truck at night in winter while its running or
something.
The problem with trying to make technology anticipate your every whim is
that it ends up coming off like a stupid servant who is never there when
you want them.
I think the 'hidden' manual switch is best. For weather protection you
could used a magnetic reed type alarm switch and just move an old
speaker magnet to a spot near it to turn the light on. The off position
is simply to attach the magnet anywhere else.
