The Chevy gives up 20 ft-lbs of TQ to the 4.7L but has 40 more HP. The
I6's torque curve gives you far more usable torque over a wider range,
however. Keep in mind they're both new engines and are probably not
very close to their true potential.

"TrailBlazer generates 270 hp at 6000 rpm and 275 lb.-ft. of torque at
3600 rpm"
Torque curve at
http://www.chevrolet.com/trailblazer/charts/16_torque.gif - very, very
flat.
>From http://www.4adodge.com/dakota/power/index.html - "The Next
Generation 4.7L V8 230 horsepower engine supplies an incredible 295
pound-feet of torque at 3,200 rpm."
Torque curve (can't find an image) is very jagged, looks like a
mountain range.
