On my way home tonite, I noticed a loud ticking noise coming from my
exhaust. When I pulled in my driveway, I heard a very bad exhaust leak, and
the unmistakable sound of the converter rattling. This is
unbelievable!!!!!!! The truck only has 38,000 miles on it!!!!!
I do know that the truck is running lean, and that it has been running
lean ever since I installed the MP headers 26,000 miles ago. Now, thanks to
the headers, I just ate my 3rd cat converter, and to top it off I've got two
burnt exhaust valves in my passenger side cylinder head!
So what should I do? Ditch the headers and go back to manifolds? If so,
anyone got a stock y-pipe in good shape? Or should I just sell the truck?
