Chuck,
This is the way to do it! If we don't voice our ideas to them, there won't
be any changes. Let them know!!!

Subject: DML: Carlisle classes & judging

Actually the classes ran something like:

- Premag
- '97 and up
- '97 and up stock
- '97 and up modified (including R/T's)
- stock R/T's

I think that's all of them.

It's too bad that they didn't split the classes up a bit differently such as

- Premag stock
- Premag modified
- Gen3 stock (no R/T's)
- Gen3 modified (no R/T's)
- R/T stock
- R/T modified

Granted the classes could be split up even more, but this way only adds
one more class total, but gives the premags two classes to run as well as
eliminates the R/T's from non R/T Gen3 Daks.

Something that I found "annoying" was that I didn't see one stock R/T
there that was entered. To me stock is unchanged from the factory. The only
R/T's I saw that fit this category were in the vendors area.

And while I'm at it, they split up the full size trucks into a sh!t load
of classes including a separate class for each year from '96 to '99 (if
memory serves me correctly). It wouldn't be bad if there were more than a
handful of trucks per class, but when you only have a maximum of 6 trucks to
choose from per year class, it gets to me when I stop and think how we
Dakota owners were clumped together into overfilled and uneven classes.

Yes, I have more frustrations with the classes, but I will save them for
the email I am writing to Carlisle.

While I am happy for the winners, I am also frustrated that the
spectator judges went more for a few bolt-ons rather than for a Dakota that
someone obviously spent a lot of time and effort customizing and detailing
by themselves. As for the competition class, I was not aware of a
competition class for Dakota's and/or full size trucks. I covered the
majority of the field and I only saw fun field registrations. Was there a
competition class for Dakota's?
