The past weekend at the track went well! The Dakado was running well
and
my traction problems are pretty much all gone now. Thanks for the ideas and
help to get the power to the ground in a better fashion! Ok, now for a
break
down of the run that pushed me into my best time ever!

I was really impressed with these times! The Dakado was launching HARD and
grabbing the track surface like the tires were superglued to the track! I
took the top spot at the weekend shootout. I also took the top spot during
the Sunday night grudge matches. All in all it was a great weekend! Now
for
the bad news:
After staying at the trackside Sunday night (we camped out in a tent for the
weekend) we packed everything back up and headed towards the house on Monday
morning. If anyone has traveled Highway 25 in Mississippi, then you know it
isn't exactly the best highway as far as "animal" safety is concerned (hint
hint). Anyway, between Louisville, MS and Starkville, MS (a 30 mile stretch
of two lane Hwy 25), the fate of the Dakado was changed once again. About
20
miles south of our house, a large doe stepped out onto Hwy 25 about 30 feet
in front of us. The rest of the story should be evident. So needless to
say, the new custom built Griffin polished aluminum radiator is gone, the
front end is demolished along with the hood, a/c condenser, my dual electric
fans, and the large tranny cooler. It will take me a while to decide
whether
I want to rebuild the Dakado back to the drag strip terror it once was, or
if
I want to just repair what is damaged and turn her into a trailer queen
only,
no more racing, just truck shows only. So much for my idea of a new paint
job next month.
