Would the stock R/T exhaust system not handle the extra air? Will a 52mm TB
hurt
my Hp until I install some heads? I'm guessing here, but should I be looking
forward to 10 extra hp from the TB on a stock engine?

Look at the long term modifications and the throttle body is your best bet.
Make sure you have a decent muffler or cat-back system to handle the extra
air
coming in though.

50mm works well but would recommend the 52mm if you're going to be
installing
the custom heads and larger valves.
