If you're looking to get a '00 or newer, you cannot get the 318 in a Dak. They
dropped it after the '99 model year. And the 360 can only be had in a QC or R/T
The engines are *basically* the same, as far as mods go. Check out any parts
catalog - there are a lot of things that bolt onto either engine (like
headers). The 360 will get less gas mileage, but neither is going to be
spectacular in that department.
Just a warning, building up an engine for speed could hurt you in the winter
where you need to be able to feather the throttle lightly and have that extra
control - an experience like Jon Steiger posted about his first ride in his
'Cuda is not what you want in 6" of snow. Jon's car will be a screamer in the
summer, but I doubt he'll drive it on anything but the clearest of days in the
winter.
