Well, i'm thinking that the shorter bed would definitely better for the
departure angle while 4-wheelin'. hehe
But, it doesn't sound like that has anything to with why you want to do it.
Another reason why the bed is sort of formed around the corners of the cab
is for improved aerodynamics, at least that's what DC has said.
I'm pretty sure that you'll have to do some frame modifications, including
shortening it. The QC bed is 1'3" shorter than the standard bed, that's a
pretty significant length.
