Yep, the last code you should get is 55. A 12 won't turn on the check
engine light, so there must be at least one other code in there (in
addition to the 55). I don't have a '97 but after you see the first code,
quickly turning the key off then on again is supposed to bring up the
next one. Maybe you'll just need to play with it a bit until you get
the timing down.
