I wish it was that simple. The problem is that all the material that came
off the ring and pinion has taken out all the bearings including one axle.
If I spend the money to rebuild it'll cost about the same as a used low
mileage axle. At this point I'm not sure if I trust the 8 1/4 any longer.
Most daks 97 and up use the 9 1/4 diff. If I spend the cash on a 8 1/4 axle
to have it come apart again I won't be a happy camper :-< Anyhow makes you
wonder it the RT is using the 9 1/4 with 245 hp and 330 lbs-ft of torque
only 20 hp over the 318. I've easily got about 60-70 over that. Makes you
wonder how long it'll last.

How bad is it blown? Why can't it be rebuilt, get a few quotes for a
rebuild, it may be less hassle then swapping out the old one.
