>From what I have seen and read, they appear to be a heck of a tire. I am
always concerned though with Goodyear tires, just cause their reputation as
having a soft tread compound. Also, Goodyears are way over priced in my
opinion. Both the Goodyear MT/R and the BFG MT-KM(and AT KO) tires have a
3ply sidewall, so I am sure the overall constuction on both are similar and
may hold up better. Overall, a mud tire like the Goodyear MT/R and the BFG
MT/KM will typicall wear faster than an all terrain tire like BFG AT KOs. Do
you 'really' need a mud terrain tire is the next question??

Assuming you are going to go with the stock tire size on your truck:
A 31" Goodyear MT/R is about $164($656 just for the 4 tires)
A 31" BFG MT/TM is about $135($540 just for the 4 tires)
A 31" BFG AT/KO is about $114($456 just for the 4 tires)
(just rough prices on all three above tires)
Now onto these prices add disposal fee(if any), mounting, balancing, valve
stems, and sales tax.....another tire if you plan on running all 5
tires(spare) with the same tread.
Or there are many many more all terrain tire options, in my opinion, which
are
just as good and even cheaper. Depends if you have a budget or not. Now, can
you still justify the price difference for a mud terrain tire? If you can or
you have the money to blow, I say go for it. Otherwise, I bet the BFG AT/KOs
will work for you. Last November I had 4 BFG AT KO(LT235s) tires installed
on my Dakota(lifetime balance, lifetime rotation, lifetime flat fix/road
hazard, new valve stems) for $425, and to me, that was rather expensive and
the most I have ever spent on tires for my truck. These current BFG AT KOs
are the 4th set of tires I have had now on my truck. I just wouldnt put a
Goodyear tire on any vehicle, whether it is a 2WD truck, 4WD truck, or even
a passenger car. I am sure it is really a good tire for whatever you drive,
but for how much they charge for the tire(s) they should be alot better. For
the price, you can get a better tire in my opinion than a Goodyear tire.
