Paul and Jason,
Ive been super busy and havnt had a chance to check the threads out until
today. Regarding your idle issues, Make sure that the double coupling or
adaptor you used to hook up the 3" Z tube to the 4"TB isnt blocking the idle
air inlet hole on the perimeter of the TB. If it is, pull the coupling back
from the hole. Air rushes in there and the squealing may be due to it
squeezing past the silicone coupling. Also, If the idle doesnt calm down
after computer learing (and adjusting the coupling away from the hole), try
adjusting the plate adjustment screw back 1/4 turn (so the plates close a
bit more). Dont adjust it so much that the plate hits the TB bore though!
Feel free to caontact me directly regarding any issues with the 4.7 TB! I
do reccomend going with the bigger inlet for maximum gains. (even a 4" dryer
hose will improve the inlet over a 3" tube) If your truck is basically
stock, your gains will be minimal at first. As you mod the truck the TB
will augment the additional mods and produce more power and torque than the
stock unit. Tests weve run on trucks with flashed PCMs and catback exhausts
showed torque increases (with the 70mm TB) over a fully ported stock 68mm
TB.
