Hmmmm ... did he leave any indication as to why the noise would come back in
25-30k miles? Why did a warranty repair cost you $600+ dollars?? I musta
missed the first few posts on this one!

Just brought my Quad Cab home from the dealer.
The ring & pinion were replaced,as where all the bearings.
The mechanic(who i trust),said the bearing looked like new,
and said the noise was from the gears.He said,the noise may come back in
25-30,000 or so.
Cost?.It was under warranty.Cost at Warranty was $663.15,and retail would
have been over $1,300.
As far as noise now??
Virtually none.No noise heard at all from 0-70mph.Maybe a little when the
throttle is backed off.
I was taken care of really well.
