I have the optional external tranny cooler that comes with the towing
package. And on cool mornings, where its 30-40 deg; I can drive 3-4 miles
before the torque converter unlocks. With OD off, I hit 2300 rpms @ 50mph
(3.55's, 31's and 4x4). If yours runs that cool, then that can explain why.
I was told the external cooler really keeps the temps down.
I may be doing that gauge install. Thanks for the reply!
