Both my mom and I had this same problem (Tacoma and Hardbody respectfully).
Her's was the fuel pump starting to give out, she just lives with it by
pumping the gas pedal, but it's getting worse and worse and will need to be
replaced real soon. Mine was actually a clogged throttle line. After it
was cleaned it started right up and idled stronger (actually pulled up a
hill at a stop light where it didn't before). The fuel pump itself I think
is cheap, but it needs to be installed in the gas tank, so that costs a few
bucks.
