I have the same moan...and I just had my serp belt replaced, for a different
reason. It didn't fix mine. One of my winter project is to top off the
fluid (that should fix it), if not then I may flush it and start over...

Subject: DML: Power steering moan

Hey, DML!
OK, who had the PS moan recently, OLZNUT? I noticed mine making noise last
week, when I had the radio turned off...A moan/groan kinda sound when I
cranked the wheel while moving slowly...never really heard that kinda sound
before, maybe cuz I always had the tunes goin......I was thinkin that at 39K
it might be time to change the Serp belt & was wonderin if that would cure
the noise...Any ideas?
I'd rather not take her in to the dealer, even tho Scotia Motors is a top
notch outfit & has taken good care of me...it's just that it's kinda out of
the way from the ("new") job I'm working now & I don't have a lot of time to
take off...
Actually maybe I oughta drop her off & have em figger out where the
antifreeze is goin...
